Bodhi Addiction is a co-ed residential mental health treatment program located in beautiful Capitola, CA. Residential treatment is the appropriate level of care for those who are struggling with an acute mental health event or are experiencing a deteriorating mental health condition. Our small, peaceful residential setting, with just six private bedrooms, provides a serene, safe, and supportive environment for treatment and healing.

Which Mental Health Conditions Are Treated?

The psychiatric services provided at a residential mental health treatment center will address the full spectrum of mental health disorders. These include:

Anxiety disorders
Includes generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, phobias, and panic disorder. Also those mental health disorders closely associated with the anxiety spectrum, such as OCD and PTSD.
Depressive disorders
Includes major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder, postpartum depression, premenopausal dysphoric disorder, and seasonal affective disorder.
Mood disorders
Includes bipolar I disorder, bipolar II disorder, and cyclothymic disorder.
Personality disorders
Includes narcissistic personality disorder, histrionic personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, schizoid personality disorder, and antisocial personality disorder.
Psychotic disorders
Includes schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, brief psychotic disorder, delusional disorder, and schizophreniform disorder.

Psychiatric Residential Treatment

Residential care offers a respite from the stress or triggers that disrupt daily functioning. Spending time at a residential program is like a safe retreat where you can focus solely on getting well. Residential treatment provides an extended stay within a nurturing environment.

Generally, you can expect the following treatment elements:

Individual psychotherapy
Therapy sessions are the core treatment element in mental health care. During these one-on-one sessions the patient explores the sources of emotional pain that could be contributing factors to the disorder. Evidence-based psychotherapies include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, psychodynamic therapy, prolonged exposure therapy, EMDR, and Gestalt therapy.
Medication
Medication is provided as needed to help relieve the symptoms of the disorder. This relief allows you to better manage the condition, leading to an improved quality of life. Current medications will be reviewed and adjusted as needed.
Group sessions
While in treatment for a mental health condition it is helpful to meet with others who have similar mental health struggles. The small group sessions allow participants to open up and share personal stories or struggles. A licensed clinician will guide the topics of discussion.
Family-focused therapy
Family members have an influential role in helping and supporting their loved one in managing their mental health challenge. Family therapy helps family members set realistic boundaries, as well as improve communication skills and conflict resolution techniques.
Case Management
A case management coordinator may be assigned who will coordinate multiple service providers and community resources. These resources can offer additional support to further enhance psychosocial rehabilitation following treatment.
Holistic
Holistic therapies can enhance the clinical results through relaxation techniques and experiential activities. These Eastern-based activities meditation and mindfulness, yoga, Ayurveda, Reiki, Qigong, Tai Chi, and energy healing.
Hobby Exploration
Recreational outings include surfing, hiking, camping, kayaking, paddle boarding, art and music.
